i am still living with my family as i'm in sixth form at the minute so i live with my mum, dad, and older brother, who is 21. i wanted to know if anyone had advice about stopping anger from a parent? if my dad has a bad day at work, he will immediately argue with my brother as he knows he will argue back, then he'll yell at my mum but she won't say anything back as she's been with him so long, and then he'll yell at me and if i saw anything back he'll slam his glass down and go in a huff.

he has issues containing anger ever since i was quite young, i remember growing up around him being angry with anything that harmed anything we owed (so once he went after someone who broke in, as we lived in a rough area growing up, but we've moved now) and i remember him punching a hole through our wooden door when i was about 11-12. i saw him punch my brother when i was a teenager a few times, too.

i just wanted to ask if anyone knew how to calm a situation with someone with anger issues???

sounds like a narcissist, they're most likely past the point of saving if they're willing to harm their own kids, my advice is to study the best you can, grey rock the best you can and minimal contact
