I am currently a secondary school teacher. I have already had a student loan which is very nearly fully paid back. I am wanting to follow my heart and change career and as such I am applying to do a paramedic practise degree, starting in September 2018. Am I eligible to apply for a second student loan to cover tuition fees. Also will I be able to apply for a maintenance loan too?

Students studying Paramedic courses may be eligible to receive funding from the Ambulance Service Trust. Students who receive this funding may also be eligible for funding from Student Finance England.
If you already have a degree you wouldn't normally be eligible for funding a second time. However, there are certain types of course that are classed as an exception to this rule.
Paramedic courses are only classed as an exception if the student is entitled to funding from the Ambulance Service Trust. It may be worth checking with prospective universities what funding is available from the relevant Ambulance Service Trust.
If there is no funding from the Trust you wouldn't be eligible for the Tuition Fee Loan or Maintenance Loan.
Regards,
Stuart
