One of my facebook 'friends' recently shared a Facebook clip with the caption:

'Didn't quite quite know how to react to this ' (it was a video of a gangster kicking a concrete wall and having his leg crushed).

Does the ' ' suggest that they found the clip funny/are not sympathic /don't care about him?

To be honest, it’s quite subjective. It’s down to how we see things, but if I was in your position I’d read it as a lack of sympathy or a simple immature reaction. But then again it could be to indicate confusion, you know?

If it's an innocent person who's had their leg crushed, I would feel sorry for the person. If it's a genuine gangster, maybe they deserve it
