I feel lost... eng/law eng/law eng/law? helppppp

What should i do ?????? I feel like im only picking law because its a stable career option, but i think i would enjoy english more n maybe after i do an eng degree could do a law conversion course.. but... what other career options are open to someone with an english degree? i just feel like my degree should be career specific as most of my friends are doing medicine/dentistry/law.

arghhh

I think you should do English - you sound as though you enjoy it. As you have already stated you can easily do the CPE exam to convert your English degree into a law one. You shouldn't feel patronised by what your mates are doing - just go with what you feel is best.
There are plenty of career opportunites for ppl with English degrees - you can go into journalism, accountancy, law, banking, advertising, business management, computing, the media, publishing, and the Civil Service...
Its a good degree to convert from too - my sister is thinking of doing the CPE and she is doing French and German

do what your comfortable with, which sounds like English. The buzz words around graduates for quite some time are "transferrable skills" - which means you can get employment almost anywhere with any degree, as long as its a good one (like english).

In short, your degree course does not have to be career specific and you'll have a lot more choice than your friends. There arent many careers open to a recently qualified Medic who hates medicine!

I think you'll find that a law degree doesn't limit you to being a solicitor.

i know howard, but that is the only reason i would do the degree! much prefer studying english for 3 years than law personally.
Even though you can go on to do almost anything after you've done a law degree what i really meant to say was that most people who do the degree are interested in a career in law.
