So I came across this post in chat and it reminded me of some advice I've been given to help low self worth and depression. I thought I'd share the idea with you guys in case you haven't heard of it before. It goes by different names, but I like "good things book".
The idea behind it is that when you're feeling depressed or have low self esteem your brain kinda tricks you into seeing things a bad way or not noticing the good things about you.
So, what you do is take a pretty notebook or open up a word document on your laptop and write down good things that you have done or that people have said about you.
You can also use it to look for the little good moments that happen by writing a good thing down at the end of each day, even if it's a tiny little thing.
If you're ever feeling low you can take a look at it and remind yourself of how awesome you are and that the world isn't all bad.
And throughout doing it you should also be teaching your brain to not be so pessimistic and to see the good things in life.
I've never actually done this, but I have used the idea. At the end of each day or whenever I'm feeling less than great about myself I have a think about something good that has happened or that I have done. I think it's really helped.
And, because of that I've decided to start my own! It's just a little word document that I'll probably forget about, but if I ever do find it I can give myself a little boost.
