So I'm wanting to do fine art at uni, I'm predicted the grades to get me into the ones I'm considering (slade, gsa, Manchester met, Newcastle uni , UAL, Falmouth. But how do I create a portfolio they would like? My focus is more traditional painting, figurative and portraiture but yeah an insight would be amazing

Are you applying for a foundation year or a Bachelors degree course?

Don’t create a portfolio designed for them to like. Create one that you like, that way your passion will be shown in your work and they’ll see this. Just make sure you demonstrate your full range of abilities.

This was my plan. However because I'm not intending on doing a foundation course do you think I should demonstrate skills within textiles, photography, drawing etc?? My concern is if I just submit fine art portraits in traditional style that they will think I'm not willing to experiment
