    This old Hymn has the most wonderful words.

    Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
    In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
    Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
    Almighty, victorious, Your great name we praise.

    Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
    Not wanting, not wasting, You rule in might;
    Your justice like mountains high soaring above
    Your clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

    To all life you give, to both great and small;
    In all life you live, the true life of all;
    We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
    And wither and perish, but nothing changes you.

    Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light
    Your angels adore you, all veiling their sight;
    Oh Lord we would render, O help us to see: ’
    Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee.

    Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
    In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
    Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
    Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.

    Anyone who loves God will appreciate these words this Sunday morning. God who is glorious Amen!

    If you're that religious then why are you sat on TSR on a Sunday morning instead of being in church?

    The rhyming is so forced I wouldn't describe the words as beautiful at all 😜

    I'm not 'that religious' but I do love God. I'll be off soon for my church service which starts at 10.30 so I've plenty of time. Are you going?

    As God doesn't exist I'm definitely not going.

    I don't like the style at all, it's far too forced and people in the 19th century were clearly not terribly good at what they thought they were.
