describe and explain the movement of blood through the heart during one cardiac cycle.

Not done one of these essay questions before and not sure what to talk about, how to structure it and how to get marks. Any help would be appreciated.

My first bit of advice for essays like this is highlight the key words in the title. It says "describe" as well as "explain". This means you will have to say what happens, and why it happens in that way, if its applicable. They mention specifically the blood, heart and cardiac cycle, so any mention of other things should be brief and preferably absent.

So its a cardiac cycle question. Think about everything you know about the cardiac cycle from your lessons. First think about the cycle-where blood enters, where it moves to first, then after that....etc etc. Think about which parts of these you need to explain (if you can think of an explanation for a specific part, then write it down).
