The bigger question here is... who cares? This was a college-specific freshers fair i.e. probably about 10 stalls in a hall, visited by 50-60 students max.

    And it made national news.

People like me care because this is symptomatic of the mind conditioning and political brainwashing fermenting in our unis, there is something very unpalatable about it all and it's not as if we haven't been warned. A well documented library by Communist thinkers explains why this Christian stall was banned. Having realised there was no other way to subvert the West to the cause, they deduced that only a radical change of 'minds and attitudes' would give them a chance. History's worst kept secret.

It's the International Socialist all over little things like this 'insignificant' stall ban. Hillary Clinton, she read a lot on it:

The senior thesis of Hillary D. Rodham, Wellesley College class of 1969, has been speculated about, spun, analyzed, debated, criticized and defended. But rarely has it been read, because for the eight years of Bill Clinton’s presidency it was locked away.

You wouldn't believe how many Sociologists around worldwide institutions there are to be found all drinking from the same fountain. Marx was the Great Wizard to their order and the ultimate culprit of this stall closure. Never mind the Capitalists.

Maybe you should judge them by their actions rather than by what they preach.Jesus said that its easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to go to heaven.Yet the pope sits in a palace with an art collection worth billions of dollars. Its no good pointing to holy books if you do not practice what you preach.Likewise the bible might preach love for all but christianitys history towards lgbt people has been anything but loving.
ANd yet not all Christians are Catholic are they ?
    I’m not
And have visited the Vatican. And you are correct
The value of treasures owned by the Catholic Church is sickening TO ME.

Once you become a Christian you are set free from living under the curse of trying to redeem yourself. You know you will never be good enough or be able to do enough to earn your salvation. That's God's grace.
I agree that most Christian doctrine emphasises a sola gratia and sola fide doctrinal understanding of faith. Which makes all your arguments of, "Christianity is good because its practitioners carry out good works" completely misconceived. If you yourself agree that good works are irrelevant to being saved, then your argumentation which relies on Christianity being undergirded by good works is confused at best and dishonest at worst.

Also, your argument that those bigoted, reactionary, hateful people are not true Christians is also thereby dismissed. As long as they believe in the Nicene Creed then they are saved, no matter how horrid and regressive they are.

Well the devil is a liar and here is one enormous lie, right here!!!!

How wrong and ill informed you are. Please show me one line of teaching from Jesus that comes anywhere near what you are saying above.

I can 100% guarantee you will not find one.
Jesus says lots of things Christians ignore and twist for their own ends. In fact, I bet if Jesus ever came back to earth. more so called Christians will be judged in a very poor light than none Christians.

Just look at Northern Ireland, ban on gay marriage, need I say more?

Christians and all religions preach love and kindness, maybe you should read their holy books.
If religious people actually practiced what they preached, the world would be a better place than it is now.

Er, I’m Christian. And I most certainly don’t hate the lgbt community.
Would you be assuming that all Christians are the same?
You are right, not all Christians are the same, only 95% are hypocrites, the other 4% are enablers.

That statement itself is pretty bigoted, and it is deeply offensive to say that Christians (or any other religious group) "should be fed to lions".

Not all Christians are against the LGBT community. I'm pretty sure you're aware that there are Gay Pastors, and Gay Christians that have weddings officiated within the Church.
I agree it is unfair to feed Christians to lions in Oxford, lions are not native to this country and in fact, the Romans took so many lions from North Africa for the consumption of Christians there is a shortage of them in that area to this day.

I think wolves would be much better and more ecologically sound being natives to Oxford.

Which Church are you referring to?

This is utter idiocy. The hard-left president of the Balliol JCR banned the Balliol Christian league from putting up a stand at the Freshers Fair out of 'concern' for "potential for harm to freshers".

    They said;

They also said that other religions might not have enough members to have their own stands, which would be "unfair" and so they decided to allow a single, 'multi-faith' stand but it would have to be unmanned; no-one would be allowed to be at the stand to answer questions, only leaflets would be permitted.

Now I am a militant atheist, and I am gay. I hold no truck for Christianity, which I believe is a pernicious and false belief system. But this ban was absolute nonsense and it only serves to solidify the belief that the undergraduate left are a bunch of crybaby snowflakes.

Do you think they would ban a Muslim or any other non-Christian stall? They wouldn't because Christianity is part of the established culture the project aims to erase, never mind that other religions can be equally or even more 'homophobic' because their adoption and promotion helps dilute Christianity's historical influence in the first place. So does mass immigration and advocating no restraints on it at all. Who does that?
I don't understand why there's so much hatred for Christianity in the UK. I have never come across such loathing, and hatred in my entire life. This country has been built on the Judeo-Christian foundation, and yet people still continue to deny this, and the good that the Christian faith has done for the UK.

When I was an Atheist I used to mock Christianity all the time, particularly when I was living in the Bible Belt in the US. So, I think it's something that's culturally ingrained in a lot of us folks from the UK. I never understood the significance of Christianity until I delved into British History, and how Christianity shaped the UK, and the set of moral ethics that we have today within our society.

The Church of England. I'm not sure about the other denominations though.

I don't understand why there's so much hatred for Christianity in the UK.
There is hardly "so much hatred for Christianity" in the UK. Probably a narrow majority of people consider themselves culturally Christian at least. Christianity is the established, state religion of this realm, and our head of state is also Supreme Governor of the Church of England. Christian ceremony is embedded in the political traditions of the country (the opening of parliament with a prayer, the guaranteed seats in the upper house for bishops).

That hardly bespeaks a religion under siege and flinching under a withering rain of hateful attacks.

I have never come across such loathing, and hatred in my entire life.
What "such loathing" and "hatred"? To what are you referring? Be specific, if you please

This country has been built on the Judeo-Christian foundation, and yet people still continue to deny this
The country was traditionally Christian, but what on earth does "built on the Judeo-Christian foundation" even mean? The mere fact that we used to be primarily Christian doesn't mean that every positive aspect of this country can be claimed by Christians as a function and consequence of Christianity (any more than every bad thing that happened can be blamed on Christianity, although many of those bad things were indeed the fault of Christianity... the mass executions of gay people, the discrimination against unmarried women and 'illegitimate' children, the discrimination against Jews_

and the good that the Christian faith has done for the UK.
If you could specifically identify what you claim these things to be, we would be in a much better position to debate it. However, in light of the things I pointed out above (the fact that Anglicanism is the state religion, the seats for bishops in the Lords, etc), the claim that somehow Christianity is a beleaguered and discriminated-against sect is utterly preposterous and suggests a rather sad victimhood mentality.

Unfortunately many people on the religious right revel in feeling like victims, in claiming they are being discriminated against, essentially playing the martyr.

I can't remember to be honest. You're the only person whose ignore list I am on as far as I was aware, though it looks like I made have been wrong. It was shortly before you changed your avatar if that helps.

Yeah no dead certain. Something turtle-ish.

It's entirely possible that this was just as you started. I've been here a while.

Fair enough. Well, as it seems neither of us can really remember what led to the disagreement, I'm presumably safe to formally declare our hostilities are at an end?
