Someone help me out here, because I'm seriously freaking out.
My family and I have gone away on holiday to England to visit some relatives for a few days, and we've left our little cat in a cattery. I just saw on the news that hurricane Ophelia is headed straight for the UK & Ireland, and though it is weakening, it could mean winds of up to 80mph.
Our house is in the storm's direct path and the cattery in which our cat is staying is merely a few miles from our house. The little "pens" the cats stay in are basically like chicken coops – apart from a few wooden walls and plastic windows, they're pretty much completely outside.
I'm panicking because our home town has never been hit with winds like this before and I'm pretty sure the cattery isn't at all prepared. Our cat would be fine if we were at home and she were with us, but that obviously isn't the case. I'm worried that she might not be safe where she is... the cattery is most definitely going to be hit hard. But I can't do anything about it and I feel completely useless.

If anyone is looking after the cat farm, he or she would have evacuated it by now.

Call them, don't post here

I think you should phone the place where your cat is staying. Ask them how they will be preparing for the hurricane and ensuring all the cats safety. They may have experienced storms in the past and have safety measurements in place.

Contacting the owners of the cattery was my first thought, but I didn't get an answer when I called and nobody has replied to the email I sent. Hence why I'm worrying so much...

Bumping because I still haven't received a reply from the cattery and I have no idea what to do...

have you got any relatives nearby who could maybe go and ask the cattery themselves or even take the cat home?

What on Earth do you want us to do, waltz to the cattery and rescue the damn cat for you?
