It really is the worst; it's taken over by "Chance me" posts and people telling others they're screwed because they don't have perfect exam grades

You're definitely in the right place. Good luck with your applications!

Yeah, and it's not like that's all over TSR at all...

While there are plenty of those posts here, it's definitely a lot worse on college confidential.

Another thread about being an American? Lol.

Maybe make like a TSR diary telling us about daily life in America. That would be interesting.

I see, but what sort of different things do you want people to say over here as opposed to there? Or you want to meet other Americans here?

mm.. Well to be honest the layout on that website is utter trash. Completely unreadable; I can't speak as to the content itself, as I pretty much decided I wanted to leave the US when I looked into applying for University. Ergo, it wasn't of much value anyway.

The layout really is trash, just another thing to add to the list

Awesome, what made you want to study outside the US?

Quite right. As per myself I got the idea from talking to a friend who lives in Durham. I was complaining about the costs of University, so he suggested that I go to the UK to study; that the culture shock would be negligible because of our similarities. This was in.. 2015?

As the time to act drew closer I looked further into the matter, and decided that based on University costs, proximity to the continent, along with the internship opportunities it simply offered the best bang for my dollar. Therefore, I contacted my previously mentioned friend from Durham and he gave me a list of places he thought I should apply, based upon Sp!ked's free speech ratings.

Of course Brexit happened, which perhaps to the surprise of some improved my outlook on studying in the UK; I figure that being in the country during such an uncertain time will be one of the more memorable chapters in my life.

This culminated in a trip to the UK, where I got to experience the people and culture first hand. Thanks in part to the positive impression I had, aside from some minor complaints, the trip served to further convince me that I must go. One year from now, I will.

<side note>My profile picture here's also from my trip to the UK, Hampton Court to be specific.</side note>
