    I think this is the right place for this thread.

    Train prices are a rip off, there's no two ways about it.

    I've been using trains for the majority of my life, thus meaning I am aware of tricks of the trade to be able to get cheaper deals simply by splitting the fares.

    If anyone is going anywhere within the UK post it in here and lets make sure you're not paying over the odds.

    There's some websites that will do this sort of thing for you, but there are things that those websites don't take into consideration.

    Train prices here are a joke! I'm guessing there's no saving on a season ticket if I've already got a discount through my school

    It depends how far in advance you book it and when you travel. I can sometimes pick up fairly cheap tickets. Just recently managed to pick up a return for Plymouth to Bristol for £20 for the end of November. Can sometimes get returns for about £30 to London too.
