Hi im doing the btec level 3 engineering extended diploma and im in my first year of the course, my second assignment had 2 pass criterias on it.The printer wasnt working so i left without submitting the printed of version or giving him the assignment brief with the signature on it, does this mean the rest of this year and next year will be wasted since one failed assignment means i cant get the pass or distinctions? I did ok in gcses so i was hoping to get DDD so i could possibly go to uni but im really bad at coursework, thanks.

My teacher always extends the deadline so I'm sure if you tell him the problem there won't be any trouble. It's just that it's better if you submit it before or on the deadline so the teacher could edit it and give you feedback

He will almost DEFINITELY allow you to complete it to at least a pass still, depending where you go, some places seem more lenient on letting you complete to anything higher than that's if you hand it in late. But if he were to not let you even get a pass, then you can not even pass the course (without at least passing each module), so I'd be amazed if he didn't refer you. One pass is not the end of the world, you can get 1 module pass on the btec extended level 3 diploma and still get D*D*D*... try using one of the BTEC calculators to work out what you need to get to achieve the grade you want. I'm pretty sure you can get at least 3 passes or 6 merits out of the 18 (possibly more) and still get DDD, but aim for distinctions wherever possible, especially in the maths.
Hope this helps,
