I am doing my dissertation of the British reaction to the dropping of the atomic bomb but am finding it difficult to find relevant secondary sources. Could anybody help me out with a place to start or some authors to look at please?

How about the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists? There appear to be contemporary articles referencing or by British scientists but I don't have full access.

The initial reaction would be to have a cup of tea, swiftly followed by an over-apologetic conversation about the weather.

I'm a little surprised that secondary sources are hard to find. General histories of WW2? Biographies of Churchill, Attlee etc? Specific works on the development of the atomic bomb?

EDIT: A little light googling leads to articles in which potentially useful historians are mentioned or cited, eg
