I'll be starting what's classed as full time course at NTU next year studying building surveying. I have 2 kids and plan to work some evenings to get by so was woundering what hours on average I'd be looking at?

I have a friend who does quantity surveying and he said he only did 2 days a week? Just curious if anyone had any further insight.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Morgi_92

Great to hear that you are joining NTU next year!

Based on the figures that our subject administration team have set, the surveying course has roughly 360 hours of contact over the course of the year. Based on a 33 week year, this would roughly work out at 11 hours a week of seminars/lectures.

Unfortunately timetabling isn’t done until much closer to the start of term (usually in July-August prior to the September start) so we won’t know until that point how the contact hours will be broken up over the course of the week – however, it may be useful to know that the teaching day is finished by 6 pm.

We have some more info in the 'how you are taught' section on our website.

Hope this helps, give me a shout if you have any more questions
