What do you think my chances of getting into the English course are?
    GCSEs- AAABBCCCC
    AS- ABD
Playing in multiple orchestras and having music grades.

I went to a school and go to a college on their 'aspiring state schools' list, and I am aware that my grades aren't very good! I also live in an area with low rates of progression to university. I genuinely am incredibly passionate about English, and Bristol is without doubt my favourite uni I've looked at - I just don't know if I'm good enough to get a place.

I think its possible and worth a shot. Hopefully your predictions are on the lines of A*AC or similar to ABB then why not!

As you live in a “low rates of progression to higher education (university)” you can go for contextual offer, as you only need 1 requirement (Bristol checks your address etc and puts you on contextual offer).

Put it as 1/5 choices, shouldn’t hurt, and is worth a shot as its your favourite University place.

All you got to do is SMASH THIS YEAR!!!

EDIT: Also, Have a Strong Personal Statement. I’m also applying to Bristol with Contextual offer to Computer Science, hopefully they’ll offer me a place and am 1 grade lower than the Contextual offer Requirement.
