I haven't read in its entirety but from reviews and the excerpts I have had the displeasure of reading, I'm given to understand it's poorly written erotica.

Nah I dodn't find it worth the read. I did read it, found it poorly constructed, didn't enjoy the story line, didn't 'feel' the characters or the book.
However, the book was recommended to me by someone who found it a good read. Each to their own.

Book is definitely better than the movie though

50 Shades is the Teletubbies compared to what I've seen, read, and written myself.
