My boyfriend and I broke up a few weeks ago and I've mainly been keeping busy but now I'm in the stage of missing him even though I know I'm better off now. Do you have any advice for how to cope with this because I don't want it to get to the point that I consider taking him back. I think the fact I hate being on my own is contributing to me missing him but you can't always have people around you.

Its great that you recognise you're better off. Just keep doing what you're doing, take up a new hobby or just explore. Try and meet up with friends and family as often as you can. Better things will come your way!

You are along the right lines.

Write down all the reasons it wasnt working and why you are better off without him. Carry it round with you as a reminder.. You are doing the right things, keeping busy, focus on your studies, drop him from all social media and dont contact.

Taking him back suggests its your choice and his behaviour. You deserve someone compatible and makes you happy more of the time. It will get better. How about a job or some voluntary work?

Yes I 100% agree with the new hobby idea. As you've already said friends and family can't always be there so it's important to have something to keep you going when you're on your own. I started going to the gym which helped in distracting me for a few hours a day, but also released all of my negative energy

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely make the list of reasons and continue to see friends and family. I'd like to start going to the gym but I'm reluctant to go alone at first. I already work a lot but I am considering doing some voluntary work around it

Keep yourself busy. It'll get better, trust me.
