“To what extent do you agree” question

Can someone please provide a method to this question.

What do I include when answering the question?

To answer this question, you will need to evaluate the given statement. By this, I mean that you will need to pick out relevant quotes for your opinion (if you either agree or disagree with the given statement although you should ideally agree since that is the main point of the question and it will get you more marks). You will also need to analyse these quotes. To do this, you can use language techniques such as similes and metaphors and analyse the effects of these and also include what effect it also has on the reader. Remember to always link back to the statement as you do not want to get to end up talking about irrelevant things. You could also talk about form (e.g. the way it's written) and structure (where and when do things happen and why this could be) as long as you refer back to the statement. Hope this helped
