I have 7 different CV's and so far I just number them like "NAME - CV (05)".

Is this a good practise or should I add the industry for which my CV is based or a title of some sort?

E.g. "Name - CV (Tech Specialist)"
E.g. "Name - CV (Warehouse Operative)"

    I've never had problems using * (Name)'s CV - (Industry) *

But then there was an email address that did became a problem once.

MName Company CV.doc and MName Company CovLet.doc

Use the organisation name, it indicates you have properly tailored it to the company, and aren't just giving them a generic IT/Retail CV.

It looks much more paranoid! Businesses routinely work with Word docs, they don't .pdf things because 'it looks much more professional'.

    name yyyy-mm-dd company

That way they will show in chronological order in your folder (when sorted by filename).
