Mental illness in some cultures may be seen as a bad thing as it may affect the look or reputation of a family. It may be deem the parents as bad or label the family as bad. Many cultures such as the Indian culture is becoming more open and accepting towards it as the world changes. Research progresses and attitudes toward it changes. I’m Indian and I’ve watched many documentaries about this sort of thing.
Different cultures have definitely adapted their attitude within mental illness towards both male and female, as a male is supppsed to be “strong” and the females are meant to be the “carers”.
But then society has questioned who looks after them answers how are they feeling?
