Hi, I've picked a stupid question for my english literature coursework but I can't change it now.
Please could someone give me ideas on how to structure this question, or points I should make. I'm not sure what my paragraphs should entirely be on. I've written one essay on Esther's dual identity ( purity and impurity) and a little bit on marriage.
"Personal happiness and social conformity often appear mutually exclusive, when forging an individual identity."
Consider to what extent to which you agree with this view, comparing and contrasting characters from A Doll's house and The Bell Jar.

Do you know what sort of themes/topics I should revolve around my question? I'm finding it very difficult to answer, I find it hard to link back to the question

Sorry, I don't know enough to answer that question. What you should do is ask your teacher or classmates who are familiar with the text. Best of luck.
