I'm aware that I'm a really posh/snobbish person and that's preventing me from having true friendships and relationships... The problem is that I can't help with that, I realize that I'm saying something snobby only after I actually said that.
I'm also a really shy person, so I don't talk much unless I'm really comfortable with someone, so other people might think that I don't talk because I'm not interested in them

Hello. I like posh people and posh accents. I am working class, but I have an upper class mentality and world view. PM me if you want.

Please define upper class mentality and world view.

I am trying to get my head round it, but can't.

It's not meant as a dig, I am genuinely interested.

Start talking to people more...go and socialise. It'll soon hit you that people are people and you are no better than them (unless they're mass murderers or something, but they're supposed to be few and far between).

A drink at your local wetherspoons wouldn't hurt you, either.

Don't change, it'll serve you well. Teacher and lecturers take you more seriously and will favor you, you will fare better in job interviews, and be perceived as more senior and more educated than you are in the workplace. There are some decent posh people around that you can have meaningful friendships and relationships with.
