I'm a Canadian student and I've applied to study History and Politics at Oxford, and subsequently, will need to submit written work on a historical topic.
Problem is I didn't take history last year, and in my current history course we won't be writing an essay until January. I'm afraid I don't have any history classwork to submit!
For my English qualification that I completed over the summer, I wrote an essay for a final project comparing two Political allegories (Animal Farm by George Orwell and Margaret Atwood's Handmaid's tale). This talks about the books' references to the Russian Revolution and Nazi Germany in the 1930's. While this would be perfect for an English degree, does anyone know if it will be sufficient for history??
Need help ASAP!!

Hi! I'm also applying for History and Politics for Balliol college. Honesty I'm not quite sure if it would be a very good topic for your essay, but email or call the college you're applying to and double check. If they say it's not historical enough, you could try and write an essay either about something you're really interested in History or maybe something about a topic you're learning in your history class and ask your teacher to mark it!! As if it were extra classwork Hope I could help
