I have just started 2nd year, I hated it in my first year but I thought id power through but now I have fallen pregnant and having a really rough pregnancy, I'm struggling to attend university as it is 2 trains and a bus away, I am mentally and physically exhausted with trying to keep up with my studies, and tbh I am just not interested in it anymore. I really want to take a gap year now, is that possible a month in to my studies? and after my year is up I want to transfer to the open university as their course is so much better and also allows time for me to care for my baby. Does anyone know if this is possible and how I would go about doing this, I feel really stressed and lost and I'm not sure what my first step is. Any help is much appreciated. thanks

what university do you go to? you should be able to take a leave of absence which allows you to take a year from your studies and return if you wish or apply to the open university. I just returned from a leave of absence due to my mental health and it honestly did give me the world of good

I would advise speaking to your tutor or get support as i don't know how your university works but i am at York uni and i just filled in a form and went on my wway, if your university does the same thing then they will speak to you when your leave of absence is due to be over to see if you are coming back yes if you give student finance a ring they should put the money owed to you on hold. if your in rented accommodation that will also need to be sorted
