Is this 'main' consulting role that they offer at Deloitte?

I can see they have Human Resource and Technology consulting as well, but am I right in assuming these are smaller with fewer vacancies than Strategy and Operations?

Actually S&O is one of the smallest areas of Deloitte Consulting, along with Human Capital. Tech is the largest area by far, it’s about 2/3 of the overall area.

The vacancies seem fairly reasonably spread but it depends how many specialisms there are within each area. I think Strategy has finance, operations and Monitor (might have missed one) I would recommend getting your hands on a map of the overall consulting business at Deloitte and seeing which one interests you the most

Other way round. S&O is the toughest to get into (except Monitor). Also the best paid.

I work at Deloitte and I haven’t found that to be the case. Monitor is the hardest to get into (anecdotally) but I believe that’s to be due to the sheer amount of applications per role

Any idea how many interns/graduates Deloitte take on in the S&O Division every year?

Think it’s somewhere between 60-70. There’s around 200 grads in total. Not sure about interns but I heard someone say that they do three intakes each summer and there were around 20 of them in one intake

How would you rank the Consulting arm of Deloitte, against its competitors in the UK?

I’m probably not the person to answer that, having only ever worked at Deloitte. Personally I don’t think it’s the best decision to apply for a company based on how others perceive it. Do your research and then apply for those you think will suit you best

They take on 60-70 people for S&O Monitor?

that sounds like a lot

If Deloitte as a whole take around 200 grads, that's roughly a third in S&O consulting monitor, which I thought was one the smaller depts

No, they take on around 60-70 people for S&O (Strategy & Operations) altogether. Monitor is part of that category, and yes it’s a much smaller number than that. I’m pretty much guessing as I don’t have a list but it’s the smallest part of S&O, I think there are around 15 in Monitor. It is pretty niche

What other parts of Strategy and Operations are there?

Because when I checked for graduate roles, they only have Strategy and Operations Monitor listed

unless by Strategy and Operations, you're referring to other types of consulting as well (i.e. technology, actuarial, etc)

I thought Finance (you mean Financial Advisory?) is its own department, separate from consulting

and you can't apply for just consulting operations anyway, at least it doesn't appear when you search for grad roles
