Hi there I'm a first year vet student at a northern vet school in the UK however i have been travelling down south every weekend in order to help my mother with her deteriorating arthritis and to assist her with helping my grandmother who has been diagnosed with cancer. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with transferring between vet universities in the UK? in particular to the RVC. I had an offer from them to join this year but firmed the northern one due to not knowing how much I would be required back down in London.
I have recently realized that it no longer going to be financially or academically viable for me to continue to travel over two and a half hours to get back every weekend.

    thank you so much

You would need to contact individual universities to discuss it. While I'm not as familiar with vet med, for medicine such extenuating circumstances can be the grounds for consideration of a transfer, so it's a possibility - but only the individual universities could tell you for certain.

Get in touch. Let's face it you're only a few weeks into term, it's not like you've missed much. Whether they're full or not/student finance etc. may be barriers though.

I know of one student who did transfer between universities at vet school but that is up to discretion by the unis involved.
Bear in mine the cost of living is a lot higher in London, so financially it may not be that cheaper, and if you are halls you may not get a refund if you paid up front for a whole term.
