Maths AS surd question help please watch

1. Solve the equation:
10+x root 8= 6x divided by root 2
Give your answer in the form a root b where a and b are integers
Are my workings correct?
10+ x root 8= 6x divided by root 2
10+ x root 2 root 4= 6x divide root 2
10+2x=6x
10=4x
10/4=x
5/2=x
X= 2.5
When I substitute it in it doesn't equate

3. it wants your answer in form of a root b so i wouldnt get rid of the root.

It is not asking you to solve the equation but to write it in surd form

The question is asking to solve the equation and write the solution in surd form.
6. x root 2 root 4=2x
Root2 times root4 is 2root2 not 2
7. i got the solution but it's more like in the form a/root b not a root b
8. (Original post by Queenie123)
x
I had to remove your post since it was a full solution, which is against the maths forum rules. Please read the posting guidelines at the top of the forum

this is as far as i got i don't know if it's right
10+x root 8 = 6x/root 2
10+x root 4 root 2= 6x/root2
10+2xroot2=6x/root2 * root2/root2
10+2xroot2=6xroot2/2
20+x root 2
maybe correct me if I am wrong pleased anyone

15. Well I got 5 root 2 as my answer
I multiplied everything by root 2 which gave 10 root 2 + 4x = 6x
I then took away 4x which gave me 10 root 2 = 2x
I then divided everything by two which gave me 5 root 2 = x
