    Solve the equation:
    10+x root 8= 6x divided by root 2
    Give your answer in the form a root b where a and b are integers
    Are my workings correct?
    10+ x root 8= 6x divided by root 2
    10+ x root 2 root 4= 6x divide root 2
    10+2x=6x
    10=4x
    10/4=x
    5/2=x
    X= 2.5
    When I substitute it in it doesn't equate
    Many thanks for your help

    Can you please rewrite your question/working using brackets? It's very hard to read.

    Also, please post questions in the maths forum in future and you'll get a faster response. I've moved this one for you

    It is not asking you to solve the equation but to write it in surd form

    x root 2 root 4=2x
    Root2 times root4 is 2root2 not 2

    this is as far as i got i don't know if it's right
    10+x root 8 = 6x/root 2
    10+x root 4 root 2= 6x/root2
    10+2xroot2=6x/root2 * root2/root2
    10+2xroot2=6xroot2/2
    20+x root 2
    maybe correct me if I am wrong pleased anyone

    Well I got 5 root 2 as my answer
    I multiplied everything by root 2 which gave 10 root 2 + 4x = 6x
    I then took away 4x which gave me 10 root 2 = 2x
    I then divided everything by two which gave me 5 root 2 = x
