Havent a clue about London, sorry. If it were Edinburgh or Glasgow or Aberdeen there'd be plenty of suggestions I could make, but not that sure whether a lot goes on down south for new year. I know when I lived in yorkshire there was never anything going on at new year.
Anyone got any ideas for Newcastle? ......................................... :s-smilie:
for london best bet, its is be around teh big ben area, westminster, cos well in london every wheres going to over 18, or going to cost a lot, also if you found out where the fire work are, normal on the river, get a good place to see them

The fireworks in London, they must be for all ages. I heard they're good to see from primrose hill? Otherwise I'm not sure for under 18s. Maybe check out if those underage people (can't remember their name!) is organising a club night or somthing. The ones who organised that festival... Gosh, I'm not being much help. Sorry :s-smilie:

Anyone got any ideas for Bangkok! :P Lol

Think im gunna go celebrate the New Year on the streets with the rest of the Asian population!
Forget the city in central, fireworks only last 5 mins and your lucky to find a good view of them, it gets very very crowded and if you lose your friends amongst the crowd then forget about finding them, because the network jams from about 11:30 till 1am. Literally thousands and thousands of people of the streets and the police usually block of roads due to crowd control etc

Under 18 best bet is a house party, clubs will spot fake id quite easily so forget about using them and most actually will cost £40 just to enter.
Yeah I agree with Davidjones90, a houseparty is def your best bet if its possible, thats what I'm doing. I mean I'm 19, so a club is a possibility, but yes even if you did get in (which would be unlikely) then it would be ridiculously expensive and over crowded.

quite boring really. new years eve that is.

just another day. a reason to get drunk. etc.
Gather across the Thames from the Eye. It's utterly packed, and you won't be able find a single place to stand where you can see it from about 23:00 onwards, but the displays are always fantastic and it's a great community atmosphere.

Nuke it !!!!!

or failing that leave for a real city ?
Well in London there are many overpriced clubs that you can go to. They're charging so much tonight, most clubs are charging £20-50 or even more. There's the London Eye but you have to get there fairly early to get a good spot and it will be packed. But if you're in central, by the riverside, you should be able to view the fireworks. If not just stay in with family and friends. I'll be at church then celebrating with family afterwards

Haha omg, that was so much fun. Seriously, going to a concert in a language you do not understand at all is great. Everyone is dancing, and singing, and waving their hands. You get involved of course, even though you don't have a clue what your singing or why your waving your hands!! I went to Central World Plaza countdown in the end, in Bangkok

What a night lol, its 5AM now, time to get some sleep! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

EDIT: Saw the best firework display I've ever seen o_O The fireworks were crazy big! The bands weren't bad either, pretty much exactly the same as UK bands but in Thai instead of English! They even had a Justin Timberlake copy, lol (boy band, high pitched singing, strange "good" dancing, he was a total rip off! Ha)

Yep, London clubs are expensive anyway, at any time of the year. I would say the entry fee and drinks would be at least 30 per cent more expensive on New Year's Eve.

A house party or watching the fireworks is the best bet if you're under 18. You seriously don't want to be paying those kind of prices in the big clubs if you really can't afford it, and it's unlikely you'd get in on New Year's Eve anyway because of the need for ID and the fact that the queues will probably be insane if you haven't go onto a guestlist.
Does anyone have suggestions for glasgow/ Edinburgh me and my mate are 16 and we did have a party but it got cancelled so we don't have anywhere to go now

Chinese New Year is coming next week. I will be watching a 23-minute fireworks display on the 6th, which is the second day of the festival. I will get a spot on the waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui before 6pm, despite the fireworks starting at 8pm, as it will be very crowded, making it difficult to find a good place.
I really miss the fireworks display, as the last time I watched it live was back in 2013.
The fireworks displays in HK are quite beautiful. I know that there is a part when fireworks come out in the shape of a pig's nose this year, with the theme song from a local cartoon played in the background. There will be a total of 24000 fireworks being ignited into the sky over the harbour.
