My strong point has never been maths and I feel like I made a really stupid decision in picking Physics. Many people from my school want to go into medicine and I realise it’s a very competitive field so I choose physics because it would give me an advantage to have the 3 sciences over applicants. I aspire to go to oxbridge but at the moment I’m finding physics very hard and I really don’t know what to do. Advice please?

What other subjects are you doing?

Bear in mind that physics is probably less relevant to medicine than biology and chemistry, and that if you get a poor grade in it, you have very little chance of going to Oxbridge.

Three sciences give you a substantial advantage for Cambridge, but only if you meet the grade requirements. Physics actually correlates negatively with getting an offer from Oxford.

If you can't get at least an A in it then not only is your Oxbridge aspiration over, so is medicine. I would talk to your teacher to determine how well/badly you are actually doing, and consider radical action if you don't think you can get at least an A.

I'm not as good at Physics than I thought I would be. I'm planning to speak to my teacher and get extra help, get some textbooks and really put my all into it.
Before you make any decisions ask yourself:
    Do you like it?
Does it open doors for you?
But if you do badly will it close doors for you?
If you are struggling, do you havethe commitment to do extra revision, maybe get a tutor etc?
I've decided to carry on Physics because it opens so many doors for me and becase i feel like i need the challenge to make me work hard at something.
    Anyway, hope this helps.
