Austria has elected the far-right APP party into government. Their leader, Sebastian Kurz, is extremely anti - Islam and anti - migration.

Is Western Europe finally leaning to the Right, like Eastern Europe is? Is this the beginning of the end of the Islamic invasion in Europe?

Finally? Le Pen and the weird looking Dutch guy were popular for years before this guy. And ofc, Farage and the Brexiters precede the rise of Kurz and his ilk.

Edit: sorry didn't read that very last bit. Evidently, the far-right trolls are out of the woodworks for good.

Yeah, but now a far right leader is actually in power in Western Europe.

I suspect Austria will now start adopting policies similar to Eastern Europe (massively reduced immigration & little to no refugee intake).

Unless you've been living in Mars, Austria has been leading Europe in policies related to reducing extra-EU, refugee/migrants movement since...forever. It was Austria that effectively close the borders in the Visegrad route to the West. In fact, it was Kurz himself as foreign minister of Austria that closed the borders between EU members and took a massive dump on Schengen whilst the rest of the so-called "pro-immigration" EU members looked passively and did nothing.

APP? The proper title is the ÖVP - formerly the Austrian People's Party, now the New People's Party after Kurz started to reshape the party ahead of the snap election.
