    Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the process of applying for the RAF. I've been through presentation, CBAT, interview, and medical and passed all so far.

I've applied for WSOp and was just wondering if someone could answer a question around pay for me - specifically, how long do you get paid the basic 'training' pay before bumping up to the standard Sgt pay? I know it's relatively short term in the whole grand scheme of things, but I'm currently in quite a well paying job and need to understand how long I'd need to budget for that considerable drop in income.

Thanks in advance. I've been reading this forum for a while now and it's been invaluable thus far - all being well I'll try and contribute going forward to help out people going through what I've been through! (Will also prob have a few more questions before it's all said and done!)

I'm wondering the same as I'm going for WSOp(L) and just waiting for my PRTC now so any help would be majorly appreciated! I know I'll likely be waiting longer due to the language training but any idea would be helpful

NCA will be on NERP ( New Entrants Rate of Pay) for the first 26 weeks after which you should have gained rank of acting sergeant after NCAITC. However because its the rank of acting Sergeant and not Substantive Sergeant it will be paid at Cpl Level 1 pay until you receive your Brevet after specialist training when you becoming acting paid sergeant.

    Hope this helps.
