I'm currently in my second year of college and I plan on becoming a primary school teacher (5-11 years) in the future & study education/primary education followed by a primary PGCE.
My college has arranged for me to go on 2 weeks work experience in a day nursery (0-5 years) when I asked for a primary school. Would it be worth doing this, or finding my own placement in a primary school?
My problem with a day nursery is the ages that it covers (0-5 years). I don't believe that it would help me with my personal statement and UCAS application for university as this work experience would be irrelevant as I would have no work experience within the ages I would like to teach, that is covered by the national curriculum.
Hope this makes sense and I would be grateful for suggestions on this
