    Do you have to remember law cases?

    Yes of course, cases form precedents and are the basis for most arguments. When you say study law, it depends on what level, Alevel, degree? Either way, case law and legislation will be learnt. Normally for exams it's just the case name, a few rough fact of the case and then the significant part of the judgment (that's the ratio)
