    Hello everyone.

I am new here and I was wondering if someone could help me to decide what to do regarding my current job.

A brief intro: I am 40 yo full time undergraduate student currently studying 3rd year. My profession is in high demand or seems so according with uni.
I am currently work full-time in hospitality (customer service/receptionist) and this job doesn't allow me to focus on my study. When I finish my shift my brain just want switch off after interacting with dozens of different people everyday.
Also, I attend uni 2 days a week, this mean I am busy 7 out 7 days!

The good point is that from my employment I have free accommodation in central London and I am paid minimum wage, thus I get around 20k per year if I count rent not paid etc.
On the other hand I basically don't have chance to progress in this job, or little but I don't like customer service therefore I aim to apply for managerial position.

My question is: should I leave this job and hope to find a job in my profession after graduated? Or should I stay in the safe zone but I am sure I will get a bad grade and no chance to get employment (employers look from 2.1 and above) ?

any suggestions is really appreciate. cheers

The whole point of the degree is that u do well. But even if u get 2nd or even first class degree that won’t guarantee u a job. So many competitions now. If u r happy with ur job I suggest that u stay where u r. If not then definitely move. Good degree gives u more chance of getting another job

Is there any chance you can go part-time for a while? If you are not happy with your job then I would say focus on your degree, because a good final grade will open up more doors than a bad grade will

Thanks Flexchm ,thanks Avaia for your answers.

I try to ask for part time but they don't allow me probably because they don't want fill 20 hours and my degree is not related to my current profession. But i have already planned to work in deliveroo and security, even zero hour contract. I just want pay my rent for the moment.

I don't have problems at my current workplace and i guess i could stay until retirement.
but I don't like this job because:
    - it s completely different than my logical nature. This is why I am study as technician.
    - i am force to deal with people i don't want interact with. And listen all their problems or take their rudeness
    - there are lot of favouritism. Incompetent people being promoted affecting my job too.

I am not pushing myself anymore in my job. I am just living day by day and mostly losing time thinking what is the best option, instead of study!

You’ll always have to deal the rude and silly people at work. No escape unless u do some work where u work alone I.e one to one care work like what I do. But this is ur 3rd year so u still have one year to go. If u graduate from 3rd year I’ll graduate with ordinary degree and 4th year is what matters the most

Do you mean, to quit for the last year and focus 100%? Which job are doing.?
This is my last year. I will be happy to work with rude and silly pp if in my profession, as i used to do previously, but at the moment i think is just a waste of time because I don't grow in the direction i want.
