I hate my surname and I really do not want to be associated with it when I turn 18. My plan was to make my own deed poll as I will be turning 16 in two months and then when I turn 18 I will change my surname on my passport. Should I do this or should I just keep my surname and bear the embarrassment that comes with it?

I like my first name so I'm keeping that but I hate my surname?, I am not particularly fond of my family or where I come from either if that is an issue. Thanks.

It's your personal choice but I would keep it as it's unique. If you're more comfortable with a different surname then go for it.

change it if thats what you want but it will probably be super complicated on forms and stuff. I want to change mine but idk what I would change it to...

This is a question that we can't really help you with, it's pretty personal. When I changed my name I struggled for quite a while about whether or not to change my last name also, and I decided to keep my last name and just incorporate what I was going to change my last name to as a middle name (so I could use it as an alternative if needed). If you have no real connection to your family then changing your last name won't be such an issue, do what you want to do at the end of the day
How are you feeling in the run-up to Results Day 2018?
