I am really confused to why Bath is ranked quite low on both Times Higher Education (250-300th) and QS university rankings (160th). Then it's ranked 5th on the guardian... Why are the rankings all over the place? Looking at their required grades they seem like a university that has quite high entry requirements yet they're ranked so low? I'm just very confused.

Bath is well renowned in the UK, hence why it is ranked higher in the Guardian as those rankings are for UK universities. Times and QS are world rankings, Bath does not have a great international reputation as say Oxford, Cambridge or London Universities. Mostly because it is a small town and it's not very well known outside of the UK.

Bath is great for teaching (although you might not know that sometimes as a 2nd year Econ student) and for the work experience on offer (most people do a placement, hence we have really solid employment prospects). It's so so in terms of its research impact and "prestige".

Having spent a year there doing a Masters, I'm suprised its as high as 5th. My experience (doing a masters in biology fyi) was terrible. I seriously regret choosing to study there for a whole year
