Online Topshop Sizes - Clothes Sizing Help!
There are these shorts i want to buy off topshop, but the sizes are strange.

I think 28 might be a waist measurement?

Basically the 25 - 34 sizes are WAIST sizes. So you need to measure around your waist, that's nearer your belly button, your narrowest part. Your hips are the widest part, so don't measure that bit or they won't fit!
Do you know what jeans size you take? For example I take a 28/30 in jeans, 28 being the waist and 30 being the leg length. If you can find some jeans that fit you in your wardrobe, their waist size might be on the care label. That should give you some idea!

^^ooo thanks, iv just measured myself im a size 34 around the waist. but i wont exactly be wearing the shorts around my waist though.

Erm, I'm pretty sure 34" waist ISN'T a size 8, more like a size 12/14? The waist is the narrowest part of your mid-section. It's higher than you think, like in this image: http://images1.comstock.com/Imagewarehouse/BX/SITECS/NLWMCompingVersions/44501-44750/bxp44740.jpg

on the topshop size guide, they've written the measurements in centimetres so u need to convert it to inches

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a size 8 would be a 26 I think. It's the waist measurement definitely. I'm a size 12 and my jeans are all 30 inch waists.
That's about as accurate as we're going to get. I'm between a size 8 and 10, and I wear 28 inch waist.
There is NO WAY that your waist is a size 34 if you're an 8. Its the slimmest part around your tummy, in inches!!

EDIT: Just looked at the site, and I think that's right.. I usually get petites as well and normal leg lengths are 30" or 32", I think.. so yeah, you choose the one with your waist size

I had the same reaction when I saw these, but in store - I think a W28 turned out to be the equivalent of a 10.

I’m a size 6 and fit a 24 - 26 it doesn’t really matter all that much. If you have average length legs but want to roll up the ankles I’d pick a 34 leg length x
