On Ucas I have applied to chemical and mechanical engineering at both Aston and UoB My personal statement is about engineering in general and linking my A-Levels of Physics, Maths and Chemistry. Can I do that or will Unis look down upon that?

that is perfectly acceptable, unis expect you to be applying to multiple courses, as mechanical and chemical engineering are closely related there will be no issue with it As long as your PS is broad and can encompass both those areas it is fine good luck!

Unis also don't see where else you've applied, so as long as your PS is about engineering then you're fine.

Thank you. Also, Im having a hard time finding the right choice of my course as I'm stuck on what to choose. Both mechanical and chemical engineering seem like interesting degrees and even after researching and attending open days, Im still confused on what to choose.

Do you know anybody who is an engineer? you could also just do a general engineering degree if you are really that stuck, then you can specialise later with a masters?
