Since i have the prior voting list we should have a result by the end of the week in theory (assuming most people who voted in the last one, did this one) as there's much less people to check off and dupe check.

Looking at how close the result was it would appear that the result will come down to how many ineligible voters each party has (at the last by-election the Tories were hit hardest although of course Labour did not run and they have more new members to the party based on dupe check requests).

Well done to the Tories - it seems your pact with ukip was prudent.

Its probably premature to start celebrating just yet, especially as it is such a close vote. But can I tentatively offer my congratulations to the Conservative and Unionist Party.

Obviously I won't be conceding this just yet with tallies still to be confirmed and a very fine margin, but of course congratulations to ThatsAGoodOne349 if the results are as they appear.

If Rakas21 wasn't bound to political neutrality these days, I'd be asking for odds on a dead heat...

The final result is obviously yet unclear but congratulations to CoffeeGeek and his party on their performance in this election. Commiserations (it seems) to Saoirse:3, as I said before I think you represented the government well - I hope you will stick to your word and make sure the end of the term is a busy one.

(Although premature, and dependant on verification) Congratulations to my fellow colleague ThatsAGoodOne349; may you represent the pragmatic values upon which you were voted for forevermore. Well done.

I also wish to take the time to acknowledge the hard work of all who stood; although our political beliefs and leanings may differ, we have a common goal - to make our country, our great country a better place to live, to work and to settle. Ultimately, it will be us IRL that will be responsible for leading and opposing those in power; some of us here today may become MPs and even leaders of parties and the country.

Together, we must ensure that the United Kingdom remains a central power in the power; economically, politically and socially; together, we must work towards a society that works for all.

    Saorice - 27 (-6)
    Spoilt Ballot - 3 (-/+)
    That'sagoodone - 23 (-13)
    Barnetlad - 4 (-/+)
    Gcx - 15 (-/+)

Saorice is duly elected (at 6pm tonight) as the member of parliament for seat 53.

You'll be regarded as having proxy voted on the stuff currently in division. Anything that goes up from tonight onward will see you vote as holding seat 53.

    ..........

Probably worth saying that if you'd had a less vigilant speaker who enjoys a good dupe hunt then we'd have actually seen a tie. The CT will make a statement in the coming days about that though.

Can I check then that from a voting record perspective, MPs elected in by-elections will take on a new number rather than the number of the seat that went to by-election?

Also congratulations to Saoirse:3! It's not over 'til the fat lady sings...

    Aye.

    Petros holds seat 51.
    Joe holds seat 52.

Seemed easier when creating the voting reviews to shove a black line through the old seat making it easier to know which one went.
