I have been predicted all 7s and 8s at GCSE (including an 8 in maths).
So far, I have (at least) matched my predictions in all of my subjects except maths, in which I am a level 6.
When I'm in class, I understand the vast majority of the work, but when it comes to a test, I almost always get a 6.
It's not stress-related, I am just not doing well enough.
Why am I under-performing? I like maths and I don't know why I'm doing so bad in JUST tests. I'm in the top set too, which is even more annoying.

I even received a letter from the head of maths at my school telling me I need to improve.
I have my mocks in just under a month and I want to get an 8 or 9 to prove everyone wrong. Can anyone help?

Maths is very much applied, and you can understand it all but need to practice to perfect it all. I don't feel as if I'm good at maths. I'm far better at humanities, but maths is my easiest exam because maths exams have the most structured path to success. Practice. A LOT. Do past papers and ensure that you work through to fully understand every question that you get wrong.

Thanks. I haven't done many past papers before; maybe I should give them a try.
