    Hi,

About 6/7 weeks ago I contacted the DWP to cancel my claim as I was starting university and receiving student finance support instead. I received my last payment as normal but this morning I have checked my bank and they have paid me for a month I should not have been. I have attended no meetings or anything since receiving my cancellation letter.

What should I do? Use the money? Contact them?

I would definitely not spend the money as they could ask for it back.

Its not your money. You can/ should let them know or just ask for confirmation.

Alternatively you can just not spend it. If you do the latter then you run the risk they ask for the overpayment back and deal with that. Longer they dont reclaim it the less likely they will.

Don't keep it unless they tell you that you can.

Put it aside just it case they ask for it back.
