I've been predicted two A*s and an A at A level, I applied for Oxford, Birmingham, Cardiff, UEA and Aberystwyth. I have offers from four of these five universities (apart from Oxford, obviously). I've applied for History and English, by the way.

People have recently told me that I've been shooting way too low in terms of my ability - which I kind of agree with, I know I could get into a place like Durham or Exeter, but I didn't want to move too far away from home and my mum kind of bullied me into staying nearby :/

Do you think it would be worth me trying adjustment on results day (provided I get the results I've been predicted and Oxford don't offer me a place)? The only universities I'd really be happy at from the ones I applied to are Oxford and Birmingham, so if I don't get the grades I need I'll probably be going through Clearing anyway.

Just wanted a second opinion, I've been worried about this for a while, but there's not much I can do to change it at the moment :P

How long ago did you apply? Is it within the last 14 days?

I applied to Birmingham last year.:five: (congrats on the offers by the way).

Adjustment is certainly an option for you.:yep: I'm guessing Warwick is quite near to you based on what you've described as close universities They have a course which seems around the right sort of flavour for you?:dontknow:

Please don't worry about it though. You have a long haul ahead of you in the form of a Levels.

If you want any help re-oxford interview or assessments, there are other more qualified people around but I know a little something.

I've moved your thread into this sub-forum so that you'll hopefully get the replies you're after.

Nahh, it's been about 3 weeks. I also have places at all the universities I've applied for apart from Oxford, so it's way too late to back out.

Thank you! Warwick is quite near to me, yeah, I'll look into that! Birmingham is lovely though.

Any help you have is help I'd find incredibly useful, especially to do with the assessments, as mine is slowly creeping up on me!

durham is the one I wish I'd applied to tbh - I wasn't ever going to step foot in london and leeds didn't have modules i was interested in lmao

uea seems nice, though, i have started to seriously consider there because they've offered me a scholarship

If not leeds or UCL then what about Nottingham? Or Birmingham?
