o.o i did hear a lot of people mention that they found section 1 harder last year.

thank you for your help, i've done 4 papers in the past two days and i'm scoring low 6s, so hopefully i'll be able to keep that up.

btw, in some of last years med school application threads, did people comment on your name because it sounds like a reference to MMI interview? because you're name does ring a bell lol
Well done, that's amazing!! I'm sure you will.

Lol yes sadly. It was supposed to be a David Bowie reference but that didn't really work out in the medicine forum.

So how many BMAT uni's did you apply for? I'm guessing you're a medic now, how are you finding it

I just applied to Oxford. Got an interview but didn't get in.

Yeah I'm at King's now. It's pretty amazing - there's definitely a lot of information you need to know which can be a bit overwhelming especially if you've spent a lot of time just doing socialising, society stuff and going out etc like I have. But it really is such a privilege to be at med school and the teaching here has been fantastic so far. And in addition to your studies there's so much fun stuff going on all the time and so many incredible people around. Definitely worth the nightmare of applying!

Which unis did you apply to in addition to Oxford?

I applied to Oxford, Kings, Cardiff and Nott. I love the idea of living in London and the course at KCL sounded amazing. (I basically just picked the uni's which focus a lot on GCSE and have courses which appealed to me)

Where else did you applu, and what was your UKCAT and GCSE. Since the whole panic over the BMAT, i've mentally lost hope with Oxford lol.

Did you find that the interview at oxford didn't go that well?

King’s is amazing apart from the admin and the fact that finding support isn’t always super easy, I’m sure you’d love it here!

I also applied to Edinburgh and Exeter. My UKCAT was 753 band 1. I’m not English but my A level equivalent grades were 7777776 while e.g. King’s wanted 666, Edinburgh wanted 66655 and Oxford wanted 7766.

I felt like my Oxford interviews were ok but obviously they weren’t good enough.

Don’t loose hope yet! If your GCSEs are good I’m sure you have a decent chance.

Candidates really can't tell how well an interview went. If you think you did well it could easily be that you missed large points of the question, especially at Oxford academic-style interviews. Equally, you'd think that if you totally bomb you'd know it, but so many people come out saying that then still get in. You just have to wait for the outcome.

just oxford. my gcse's aren't too bad, and i come from a bad school where i was in the top 1% so hopefully if i mess up it won't be too bad?

but do i have enough time to get a good score?
Good luck then for competing with the many applicants who have same or better GCSEs than you and have much better BMAT scores.

Also being in "1%" for GCSE results doesn't really mean anything. They compare the average GCSE score for your school with yours.
