    Hi,
I’m currently in year 12 In the UK and want to study in North America.

However , I don’t understand the process as in the UK we study 3 or 4 subjects from 16-18yrs old and then go to university to study one direct subject but in the US I believe you spend the first year of university studying a range of subjects including maths, sciences, arts and social sciences.

Would I be at a disadvantage if I went to the US at 18 after studying 3subjects for the past two years and beginning to study all the subjects in first year? I know what I want to major in (economics and finance) so do I still need to do first year?

Can somebody please tell me the process of a UK student studying in the US. What do they study, how long does it take and when should I apply before?

Most universities in the US will have international equivalent grades so you can see what you’ll need to be accepted. I don’t think it would put you at any disadvantage necessarily so long as your SAT score was good enough
