For English, I need to do language analysis in the exams. However, sometimes I really struggle to know what to put especially anything past just putting the connotations. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I can improve my language analysis in essays?

In my class our teacher always tells us to question why the author used something e.g the author used repetition > why > to emphasise the word > why > to show its importance ... and so on.

Agree with the other post, also think about how you are feeling and how the writer got you to feel that way. The key is to get the inferred meaning of something that isn't obvious. If you haven't watched Mr Bruff's videos please do, he is very helpful.
