It’s always best to start with 4 AS and do 3 A-level 4 AS gives you a backup in case you change your mind or end up doing badly in one subject, if you did 3 and did a subject you didn’t like or did bad in, then what? You have to squeeze an a-level into one year or do an extra year.

Doing 4 A-levels is also alright but unis only want 3 most the time, sometimes having 4 can make you look stronger and if you’re doing something like further maths and it’s required they’ll usually ask for 4 a-levels

What do you mean if I'm doing further maths, 4 A levels will be required? What university's require this?

None, except a few medschools, and economics at LSE. Neither of which are relevant to you.

I only do 4 because to widen my scope of interest since I do FM so that already takes up 2 of my 4, So I did FM Maths Phys Chem.

Lul 4. I do 5 maths fmaths chem physics economics because they're fun, and so far relatively straightforward. It also helps to keep my uni options open.

I would recommend starting off doing 4 because it gives you the flexibility to drop one just in case you don't like a subject...
