Will this hinder my chances?

So there's this girl at uni at I like, I know her because we both do the same sport so we work together a lot.That is the only time I talk to her really but she does come over and talk to me a lot during it. However I have injured my leg so won't be able to train for a while so I won't really see her. I will be able to go for drinks after the sessions with everyone. The thing is is that I was planning on asking her out for a drink this week but ow I'll barely see her. Will this hinder my chances and what do you think I should do? I don't talk to her online so it would seem very strange if I just randomly messaged her asking her to go for a drink with me.

Just strike up a conversation with her first and talk for a while. You have her online so make the most of your other options.
