    Hi,

I broke up my friendship with 3 of my old best friends from uni last year because they each in turn hurt me
tremendously during our years together. I fell out with them last October only for one of them to message me out of the blue last night saying she has cancer which they expect to be curable. I sent her a message to wish her well but she sent the message onto another girl in our group who bombarded me with messages today. I got called selfish and saying I had changed because I didn’t want to rekindle a once was friendship. Felt like I wasn’t going to win either way. Anyone experienced anything like this before?

You have to make you mind up. Only you recall how good friends you were or what happened.

If you feel it was so bad you wash your hands of them, then live with the consequences. be civil and polite to the cancer victim, but thats it. You could even send her another message saying you really do hope she gets cured but the harassment and name calling from the person she forwarded the messages to reminds you of why the friendship fell apart in the first place. You shouldnt have to put up with being abused.

If you have moved on then thats it. people can forgive, but forgetting is different. If you want to move on then do so.
