    Hi TSR!

I need help on how to write my personal statement. The problem is - I dont have anything to really write about.

I'm 20, finally getting a BTEC in the subject I want to go on to studying (Engineering). I've never had a job or any work experience and I dropped out of school so I don't have amazing GCSE results. I've never had any "extracurricular" activities either.

How do I make myself stand out when I've got nothing to show?

You need to find something to talk about.

It doesn't matter so much that you've had a not so stellar past. You need to persuade unis that you want to study this subject now. Think about why you want to do engineering. What bit of the current course do you like best? Have you done a project or piece of work you really enjoyed? Are there any parts of the BTEC or degree that you're really looking forward to?

Extra-curricular stuff doesn't matter as much. You only have 4000 characters maximum, and 70% of the statement should be focused on the course. If you can write enough about the subject you can leave extra-curricular out completely! But if you are worried, you've got time to start something.
